Weekly Update - w/c 21 October

This week, it definitely began to feel autumnal outside. Together, we learnt about the changes that occur in autumn: the shorter days, the cooler weather, the leaves changing colour and falling off the trees. We took a trip to our school field to observe the changes outside.

In maths, we have been looking at repeating patterns and practising continuing and creating simple AB patterns using maths resources, natural resources outside and paint and colour.

In phonics, we have spent the week reviewing our learning from this term and assessing the children’s progress. After half term, we will start short reading group sessions with all the children.

In our Drawing Club session, we have been using the brilliant book ‘Room on the Broom’ by Julia Donaldson ahead of Halloween next week. The children have drawn their favourite character and also thought about what potion they could make to rid the witch of the dragon.

It has been a fantastic half term and we hope all the children and families have a wonderful and restful half term break!
